Melissa, you make coffee nervous.

A friend describing me:
Melissa, you make coffee nervous.

A year ago I was with a person who is no longer in my life. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? I haven’t figured that out yet and the answer you would get would depend on the day that you asked. But he did do one thing for me 18 months ago that has changed my life forever. He gave me Photoshop and Photoshop for Dummies. And a camera. I haven’t looked back.
At that point, I had a freelance writing career. But adding something to it, fit right in. I’ve been in love every since.
I’m launching my professional site hopefully in two days. Did I mention I’m moving in 18 days? That means I might not have showered in 5 days. The math, not so much here people.
So the pretty image above? That’s my logo. I like it.
Oh, would you like a photo of what I can do to tease you?
The moral of the story? Click here and bookmark it. For, I am coming. Oh yes, I am.

In 21 days, I’m moving:
To a new job
To a new apartment
To a new adventure
To a new babysitter/daycare
To a new social circle
To a place to call home.
I’ve never been more excited.

James, from Finding Optimism, has tagged me for a memo. Go read James. He’s interesting. His blog deals with a subject very dear and clear to my heart. Sometimes he makes me cry, sometimes he makes me laugh but he always makes me think.
List the 5 ways you raise your vibes when in a funk.
1. Walk. And I mean walk. With my camera. I don’t post pictures here often and maybe I will more after the move is complete. But, I love photography and walking. When I’m stressed, I walk, anywhere as long as I can get out. I imagine in my head I’m leaving. I always come back.
2. Warm drinks. Coffee, tea, lattes. Whatever. It’s warm and makes me feel better.
3. Set my alarm at 6 am and write at dawn. It just makes me feel good.
4. Create more. I also create more art, whether paint the walls, write something, create a menu, create a graphic, just create.
5. Blast the tunes. I’m a creature of the music. I have a varied sense of music, liking words over styles. This week I have been revisiting Pearl Jam and Eddie Vedder. I really do love his voice. The emotions he invokes in me. It’s been a release in me. And that is what helps me release my inner vibe. Some times it works. Some times it fails.

No, I’m not pregnant, why do people keep asking me that? I’m not wearing these pants again, that’s for sure.
I’m moving. To a different state. In a month.
Because I’m crazy.
Let the blog entries that start like this, and “all I really was asking for was boxes….begin!”

Him: this chicken is cooked very well…
Me: I’m really liking this new deodorant I bought, I think it smells nice…..
Him: your mind really doesn’t filter does it?

When the guy who is trying to woo you is (remember this guy) saying something sweet in your ear late at night, the lights are down low, the music is playing, but you ask him if he gets a zit on his back if you can pop it? He looses the mood.
Quickly.
I’m a romantic people, what can I say?

nothing to see here folks, just checking things out.
Carry on, carry on.
